| This week I repeat the brief update on the financial situation of the parish which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago.
The weekly Offertory Collection is our primary source of income. We are grateful to all who have continued to give on a regular basis through this difficult and uncertain time. Our regular weekly collection is presently at less than one-half of what it was before Covid-19. Our total expenses amount to approximately $10,000 per WEEK. Our weekly offertory has been running about $4,000 per week. Rent and other income make our weekly income about $6,000 at the moment. We are using our savings to make the necessary repairs of the buildings and make up the deficit from the lower offertory, but the savings are running out. So, I ask of you two things: 1) please make a conscious decision about how much you can afford to give to the parish each week and give that amount weekly or monthly. 2) Reach out to parishioners you know who are not attending Mass because of the corona virus and let them know that our financial situation is getting difficult. Even if they may not feel comfortable attending Mass, they can still support the parish financially to the extent that they are able by sending a check in the mail or giving online. There are 14 parishes in the diocese that have become financially insolvent as a result of the loss of offertory income during the pandemic and probably will need to be merged or closed. None of us would want St. Mary’s to become one of those. We need your help! Thanks. |
Esta semana deseo repetir mi informe sobre la situación financiera de la parroquia, la cual hice de su conocimiento desde el púlpito hace unas dos semanas.
La colecta semanal es nuestra principal fuente de ingresos. Agradecemos a todos los que han seguido contribuyendo de forma regular durante estos momentos difíciles e inciertos. Nuestra colecta semanal en la actualidad es menor que la mitad de lo que era antes del Covid-19. Nuestros gastos totales ascienden a aproximadamente $10,000 por SEMANA. Nuestra colecta semanal durante este tiempo de pandemia es de alrededor de $ 4,000 semanales. El alquiler y otros ingresos hacen que nuestro ingreso semanal sea de aproximadamente $ 6,000 en este momento. Estamos usando nuestros ahorros para hacer las reparaciones necesarias de los edificios y compensar el déficit, pero los ahorros se están agotando. Hay 14 parroquias en la diócesis que se han vuelto financieramente insolventes como resultado de la situación por la que estamos pasando y probablemente deban fusionarse o cerrarse.
