Please plan to join us on Friday, 21 November at 7:00 p.m. for a solemn Vespers to mark the vigil of the feast of St. Cecilia, the patroness of music and musicians. The professional St. Mary’s Schola Cantorum (9:30 Sunday Extraordinary Form) will join with the volunteer St. Mary’s Choir (11:30 Sunday Ordinary Form) to sing First Vespers of St. Cecilia’s Day, including the Magnificat Secundi Toni of Tomás Luis de Victoria. Immediately following, the Schola Cantorum will sing a short concert of works by Josquin, Hassler, Crecquillon, and Byrd. A reception will follow. Please plan to join us for this festive occasion as we officially inaugurate the St. Cecilia Society, dedicated to the promotion of sacred music here at St. Mary’s for the greater glory of God and the aedification of the faithful.
