The Annual Catholic Appeal has begun for the year 2018. Each year our parish supports this Appeal that itself supports and makes possible many Diocesan programs that are important to the life of the Church. Each parishioner at St. Mary’s has an obligation to support the Diocese as well as our parish, since the head of the Diocese, Bishop Caggiano, is our Father in God. St. Ignatius of Antioch in the first century said that where the Bishop is, there is Jesus Christ. As I said last year, you may earmark your donation for whatever Diocesan program you choose. I would recommend St. John Fisher Seminary, especially now that two of our young men have applied for admission for September. Please be generous and send in your donation as soon as possible. —Fr.
