| Our evening with Mary on Monday the 7th of October was shared by many parishioners and guests. We are grateful to the Alliance of the Holy Family International for making the evening possible. Thanks also to all who participated in consecrating our parish and her families to the Blessed Mother.
Parishioners will notice that a willow tree has been planted in the fenced area near the side entrance to the church. Willow trees are particularly adept at drinking water. We hope that the tree will help to reduce the amount of water that collects in that area and seeps into the lower church. The large tree that stood near the garage has been removed. It was diseased and nearly dead. If one looks at the stump one can see that the lighter colored wood is that which was alive while the darker wood toward the center was dead. There was not much left to keep it standing. Thank you to Carlos Higareda and his workers from North Greeny Landscaping of Norwalk for providing these services. Progress continues on the plans to repair the gym roof and we hope that the work will begin soon. Progress is also being made on the plans to re-surface and re-stripe the parking lot. Our intention is to increase the number of parking spaces and improve the traffic flow. The replacement of the front doors of the church has turned out to be a difficult project to complete. Several contractors have looked at the doors, but we have not yet found the right company to undertake the work. Don’t forget to pick up your raffle tickets at the front entrance to the church. The proceeds will go toward the replacement of the gym roof exhaust fans. Please note that All Saints Day (Friday, November 1st) is a holy day of obligation. The vigil Mass will be offered in Spanish on Thursday, October 31st at 6:00 PM. Masses will be offered on the Holy Day itself at 8:00 AM and 12:10 PM as usual, with a Solemn High Latin Mass at 6:00 PM. We are tentatively planning a service of Advent Lessons and Carols on Gaudete Sunday, December 15th. Stay tuned for further developments. |
Durante la velada con la Virgen María el lunes 7 de octubre nos acompañaron muchos feligreses e invitados. Agradecemos a la Alianza de la Sagrada Familia Internacional por haber hecho posible este evento. Gracias también a todos los que participaron para consagrar a nuestra parroquia y a sus familias a la Santísima Madre. Notarán que se ha plantado un árbol (Sauce Llorón) en el área de la entrada lateral de la iglesia. Estos arboles tienen la particularidad de absorber mucha agua. Esperamos que el árbol ayude a reducir la cantidad de agua que se acumula en esa área y se filtra al interior de la iglesia. El árbol que estaba cerca del garaje ha sido eliminado. Estaba infestado y casi muerto. Si observan lo que quedo del tronco podrán observar que la madera de color más claro es la que tenia vida, mientras que la madera más oscura hacia el centro estaba muerta. Gracias a Carlos Higareda y a sus trabajadores de North Greeny Landscaping of Norwalk por proporcionar estos servicios. Continuamos con los planes de reparar el techo del gimnasio, y esperamos que los trabajos comiencen pronto. También estamos avanzando con los planes para rediseñar el estacionamiento de la Iglesia. Nuestra intención es aumentar el numero de espacios de estacionamiento y mejorar así el flujo de trafico. Tratar de reemplazar las puertas de la entrada de la Iglesia ha resultado un proyecto difícil de completar. Varios contratistas han hecho sus evaluaciones, pero aún no hemos encontrado la compañía adecuada para realizar el trabajo. No olviden recoger tus boletos para la rifa, están a la entrada de la Iglesia. Los fondos se destinaran para reemplazar los extractores del techo del gimnasio. Recuerden también que el Día de Todos los Santos (viernes 1 de noviembre) es un día de obligación. La Misa de vigilia se ofrecerá en español el jueves 31 de octubre a las 6:00 p.m. Las Misas para el Viernes, Día de todos los Santos, serán a las 8:00AM, y a las 12:10PM como de costumbre, y tendremos una Misa solemne en Latín a las 6:00PM. Tentativamente el Concierto Navideño será el domingo 15 de diciembre. Seguiremos informando. |
