We congratulate Nicholas Ward, recipient of this year’s St. Augustine Medal of Service Award. Each year every parish in the diocese is invited to recognize one layperson who has distinguished himself or herself by selfless and generous service to the parish. Since I arrived here on July 1st Nicholas has served daily Mass for me nearly every day and has been an excellent source of information regarding people and programs of St. Mary’s. Additionally, Nicholas serves Mass every Sunday, helps to train new altar boys, and is an integral part of the Teen Catechism program. I am grateful to Nicholas for his service to the parish, and I encourage everyone to extend him a word of congratulations and thanks. Nicholas received his award from Bishop Caggiano on Saturday, November 17th at St. Augustine Cathedral. —Fr. Ringley
