| St. Michael the Archangel appears multiple times in the Bible as protector and defender. In the book of Daniel, Michael the Archangel appears in Daniel’s vision as “the great prince” who defends Israel against its enemies. In the Book of Revelation, he leads God’s armies to final victory over the forces of evil. Devotion to Michael the Archangel is the oldest angelic devotion, rising in the East in the fourth century. The Church in the West began to observe a feast honoring Michael and the angels in the fifth century. Today, St. Michael is invoked for protection from evil and from enemies. | San Miguel Arcángel es una de los primeros seres espirituales que Dios creó en su obra universal. Su historia, está ligada a la batalla que se libró contra Lucifer-Cr 21:1- en los cielos,-Ap 12:7- desde entonces, por haber sido expulsado Satán del cielo y haber caído en la tierra, el San Miguel Arcángel se ha convertido en nuestro protector. Siendo que el propósito de Satanás es adueñarse de este mundo y para ello busca que la humanidad caiga en pecado, -Job 1:6,9-. St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
