| A Blessed Easter Season to one and all! It seemed that Lent had just begun, and here we are already having reached the Easter Season.I want to thank everyone who helped make our Holy Week ceremonies the best that they could be. Last year a handful of us celebrated Holy Week in the church with no heat as we were desperately trying to save money, having no idea what the pandemic would bring except the end of Sunday collections for a then-undetermined length of time. Thanks be to God, and your generosity, we survived.
Our masters of ceremonies Bill Riccio and John Pia, as well as our musicians led by Charlie Weaver spend a tremendous amount of time and effort to ensure that all goes well. I know that all of us are grateful to them. The Annual Catholic Appeal continues. At this point we have reached about 25% of our goal. Thank you to all who have already contributed. Just a reminder that the Appeal supports the charitable works of the diocese including feeding the hungry, providing education and training for deacon candidates and seminarians. A gift to the ACA is an easy way toward fulfilling our obligation to love our neighbor. Five of our young parishioners in the RCIA program received the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation on the Easter Vigil. The rest of those who completed the requirements, about 12, will receive Confirmation on the Feast of Pentecost. We congratulate them on their hard work. Thank you to all those who volunteered their time and energy to handle all the things that are done behind the scenes to make our parish the best that it can be. ¡Les deseo una bendita temporada de Pascua a todos y cada uno de ustedes! Pareciera que la Cuaresma acabara de comenzar, y aquí estamos, ya en el tiempo pascual.
Quiero agradecer a todos los que ayudaron a que nuestras ceremonias de Semana Santa fueran lo mejor posible. El año pasado, solo algunos de nosotros celebramos la Semana Santa en la iglesia sin calefacción, ya que estábamos tratando desesperadamente de ahorrar dinero, sin tener idea de lo que traería la pandemia, considerando que las colectas estaban en el aire y no sabíamos con cuantos recursos contaríamos durante un período de tiempo indeterminado. Gracias a Dios y su generosidad, sobrevivimos. Nuestros maestros de ceremonias Bill Riccio y John Pia, así como nuestros músicos dirigidos por Charlie Weaver dedicaron largas horas de tiempo y esfuerzo para asegurarse de que todo saliera bien. Sé que todos les estamos muy agradecidos. La Campaña Católica Anual continúa. Hasta ahora, hemos alcanzado aproximadamente el 25% de nuestra meta. Gracias a todos los que ya han contribuido. Les recuerdo que la Campaña apoya las obras caritativas de la diócesis, que incluye la alimentación de los hambrientos, y que además proporciona educación y capacitación para los candidatos a diáconos y seminaristas. Una ofrenda a la Campaña Católica Anual es una manera fácil de cumplir con nuestra obligación de amar a nuestro prójimo. Gracias a todos aquellos que ofrecieron voluntariamente su tiempo y energía para realizar los trabajos que se hacen fuera de escena para hacer que nuestra parroquia luciera digna de honrar al Dios de todos nosotros.
