| We congratulate the family of Christian Michael Rosario who received the gift of Baptism last Sunday afternoon. May Christian Michael become the saint God is calling him to be!
We remember that a partial indulgence is granted to the faithful who renew their baptismal promises according to any formula in use (e.g. the Apostles Creed). A plenary indulgence is granted (according to the usual conditions) if this is done during the celebration of the Paschal Vigil or on the anniversary of one’s baptism (See Handbook of Indulgences #70). This week we wish all of our parishioners and friends of St. Mary Parish a blessed and happy Thanksgiving Day. In spite of all the difficulties of our time, we do have much for which we should be thankful. Not the least among these things is the freedom we enjoy to worship the One, True and Living God. During this month of November, as we remember all the faithful departed, we pray in a special way for those men and women who have given their lives so that we may continue to enjoy this freedom. Our parish joins in giving thanks to an anonymous donor who has contributed $10,000 toward the repair of the gym roof. Work will begin this week. We ask parishioners to be careful while passing near the construction area. We are pleased to report that the RCIA students and their parents are making good progress toward learning the Faith. We recently gave them a mini-examination, and most were able to demonstrate that they are on track to receive the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. Please pray that they will be life-long learners and faithful Catholics. Our next parish wide event will take place on Thursday, December 12th. We will offer a Mass at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 12th in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas and of the Unborn. Light refreshments will follow in the gym. There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 AM on Wednesday morning until 8:00 AM on Thursday morning. The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 15. Please get your tickets in! Proceeds will pay to install exhaust fans in the gym roof. |

Les recordamos que se concede una indulgencia parcial a los fieles que renueven sus promesas bautismales de acuerdo con cualquier fórmula en uso (por ejemplo, el Credo de los Apóstoles). Se concede una indulgencia plenaria (de acuerdo con las condiciones habituales) si esto se hace durante la celebración de la Vigilia Pascual o en el aniversario de nuestro bautismo (Ver Manual de Indulgencias # 70).
